FOOTSTEPS OF ST MARY MACKILLOP PILGRIMAGE 2022
You are invited to join Fr David and fellow parishioners on a pilgrimage in the footsteps of our patron.
This pilgrimage (departs Melbourne Thu 13 October 2022 | returns Adelaide Sun 23 October 2022) is a graced opportunity to set out together on a true Australian Pilgrimage through the life and times of Mary MacKillop, as we rekindle the story, landscapes, and spirit of our nations’ first saint and the patron of our parish.
Some of the highlights of the pilgrimage include an opportunity to tour Melbourne’s Mary MacKillop Heritage Centre and Museum and to visit Mary’s birthplace in Fitzroy, to visit the grave of Mary MacKillop’s father at the Hamilton Cemetery and other sites associated with the MacKillop family, to explore the Sevenhill Centre of Ignatian Spirituality in the Clare Valley and the Sevenhill Vineyards, along with two nights in Penola (on the actual anniversary of the canonisation of St Mary MacKillop) before ending the journey in Adelaide, the City of Churches, where you will have the opportunity to join the ‘Mary MacKillop Walk’ through the suburbs of Kensington and Norwood which became an important part in Mary’s story.
